    Form of Separation

The primary purpose of Form of Separation within an electrical assembly is to allow safe access to specific sections of the equipment while other parts remain energised and operational. Although separation does not directly enhance electrical performance, it plays a vital role in ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

    Key benefits include:

    • Protection against accidental contact with live parts in adjacent functional units.

    • Prevention of solid foreign objects passing between compartments, reducing the risk of damage or faults.

We offer configurations up to Form 4 Type 7, providing tailored separation levels based on your operational and safety requirements.

    Cable Entry & Access

In any complex electrical system, enclosures must accommodate multiple cables and/or busways. Proper cable entry and access design is critical to ensure both the functionality and integrity of the panel over time.

    Key Considerations:

    • Panel Location: Whether the panel is installed indoors or outdoors, cable entry points must be chosen to suit the environment and ensure safe operation under varying conditions.

    • Ease of Maintenance: Thoughtful cable access design facilitates future maintenance, upgrades, and inspections—reducing downtime and service costs.

    • Entry Points: We offer flexible options for top or bottom cable entry, and front or rear access, based on installation needs.

    Why It Matters:

    Improper cable entry can:

    • Compromise the panel’s Ingress Protection (IP) rating

    • Lead to premature wear, moisture ingress, or dust contamination

    • Create operational hazards or limit accessibility during servicing

Our panels are designed with precisely engineered gland plates (in mild steel, galvanised steel, or aluminium) to maintain optimal sealing and preserve enclosure ratings—even in the most demanding environments

    Metering & Monitoring

As energy efficiency becomes increasingly critical, so does the need for accurate, real-time power and energy monitoring. Modern systems demand advanced metering solutions that provide transparency, control, and insight.

    Why It Matters:

    • Improved Energy Management: Monitor consumption trends and optimise system performance.

    • Cost Control: Identify inefficiencies and reduce unnecessary energy use.

    • System Health Monitoring: Detect issues before they become faults through real-time alerts and historical analysis.

    Our Metering Solutions:

We integrate a wide range of multifunction power meters tailored to your specific application. These meters offer:

    • Real-time measurement of voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency, harmonics, and energy consumption

    • Options for Standard or MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) approved metering

    • Remote monitoring and communication via Modbus, BACnet, or other common protocols

    • Data logging, alarms, and event recording for operational insight and compliance reporting

Whether you require simple monitoring or a complete energy management system, we offer flexible, scalable solutions to meet your technical and regulatory needs.

Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings: Built for Demanding Environments

Elektramech designs LV Switchboards, MCCs, and Distribution Boards with robust enclosure systems to protect against dust and water ingress—ensuring long-term durability and reliability across all environments.

    Standard Protection

Our standard steelwork systems are rated up to IP54, offering:

    • Limited protection against dust ingress

    • Protection from water spray from any direction

This level is suitable for indoor environments and general industrial applications where moderate protection is required.

    Enhanced/Bespoke Protection

For harsher or more demanding environments, we offer bespoke enclosures with IP ratings up to IP65/66, providing:

    • Complete protection against dust

    • Resistance to high-pressure water jets from any direction

Ideal for outdoor, marine, or wash-down areas, these systems are engineered to ensure system integrity and safety even in extreme conditions.

    Why IP Ratings Matter

    Choosing the correct IP rating:

    • Extends equipment lifespan

    • Reduces maintenance and downtime

    • Ensures compliance with environmental and safety standards

Let Elektramech help you select the right enclosure protection for your application—from standard industrial use to the most extreme operational environments.
